The Menagerie Wiki

Abigail Hardy is the wife of Jackson Wilde and the mother of Logan Wilde. She is a Tracker for the Wyoming Menagerie.[1]

Appearance[]

Abigail is slightly less than 6 feet and 2 inches tall[2], almost the same height as Jackson Wilde[3], lanky, has black curly hair that grew into a small Afro similar to a "dark halo" when she was kidnapped by the Sterlings[4]. Her smile is "as bright as the sun"[5]. She also wore a charm bracelet, but gave this to Logan.[6]

Personality[]

Abigail is extroverted and adventurous, as seen in her status as a revered Tracker.[7] She is not afraid to take risks, and is very patient and not easily persuaded, as seen when she refused the Sterlings offer for money to disappear and give them Xiang and waited for someone to rescue her.[8] She also has a sense of humor, even under pressure, as when she was discovered in her cell in Old Silverado, she pretended to talk like a cowgirl.[9]

Biography[]

Pre-Series[]

While driving to the Wyoming Menagerie to bring Xiang there, she was intercepted by the Sterlings, who offered her $2,000,000 to disappear and give them Xiang. She refused, so the Sterlings kidnapped her and kept her in a cell in the ruins of Old Silverado.[10]

The Menagerie[]

Jackson and Logan Wilde move from Chicago, Illinois to Xanadu, Wyoming to search for Abigail, who supposedly ran off and "divorced"[11] Jackson. She sent her husband and son a postcard from Cheyenne, Wyoming, explaining she was unable to return.[12] Logan owned a bracelet from her that included several charms that she had brought back for him on her trips around the world,[13] but he gave this for Clink to protect in order to convince her to return to the Menagerie.[14]

Dragon on Trial[]

Zoe mentions that Abigail rescued an alicanto and brought it to the Wyoming Menagerie.[15]

Krakens and Lies[]

Abigail was found to be the prisoner of the Sterlings, kept in a prison cell in the ruins of Old Silverado. She was watching over Xiang even though she had been offered two million dollars to disappear. The main characters rescued her and Xiang and brought them to the Wyoming Menagerie, helping to save the Wyoming Menagerie[16] from the Sterlings' plot to turn it into an amusement park.[17]

Trivia[]

  • Abigail's maiden name, Hardy, is likely a reference to her personality, which allows her to be tough and rescue mythical creatures and become a well-known Tracker.
