Sameera Lahiri, also known as Miss Sameera, is a female human who appears in The Menagerie trilogy. She is a member of the Free Rangers.
Appearance[]
Sameera has caramel-colored skin and long wispy black hair in a ponytail.[1]
Personality[]
Sameera is a kind but misguided person who believes in myths and conspiracies such as mythical creatures[2] (even though they were proven to be real) and the government performing tests on innocent creatures (later proven to be a Menagerie in Roswell that breeds dragons)[3]. She is also easily persuaded, as seen when the main characters rescue Pelly from Sameera after she took her to her house.[4]
Biography[]
The Menagerie[]
Sameera first appeared in Logan Wilde's school. She later appears in the Xanadu library, carrying a stack of books about mythical creatures, presumably to do research on griffins after seeing Flurp.[5] It is assumed that she locked Flurp in the children's room, either accidentally or on purpose to not lose her[6]. Sameera later appears when Logan and Zoe go to the library to spy on Sameera after seeing her holding griffin feathers.[7] She talks to Mr. Claverhill about having seen two griffins and that the "legends" about Xanadu containing mythical creatures are correct.[8]
Dragon on Trial[]
It is discovered that Sameera was preparing a message to Mr. Claverhill concerning resources to the Free Rangers to Xanadu[9], and Logan, Zoe, and Blue sneak into her house to investigate. She finds the trio sneaking in to take Pelly, who is in her yard. Pelly tries to convince her to fight them and "protect" her, but through some persuasion, Sameera comes to terms with what the Menageries actually do, and offers to help them take Pelly back,[10] especially because Pelly had taken advantage of Sameera's guilibility to cajole excessive pampering and luxuries nd expensive foods to the point where Sameera was more than happy to give Pelly back, and quite furious when she learned Pelly had lied about her care and how she was treated in the Menagerie.
